MB IIA Imports at Tell el-Dab'a

David Aston, SCIEM2000 Vienna

This short presentation aims to show the types of MB IIA vessels which were imported into Tell el-Dab'a during the time period co-eval with the late Twelfth and Thirteenth Dynasties, (strata H-G/1-3). During this period a relatively small number of vessels were imported from Upper Egypt, the Aegean, and from Syria-Palestine. This talk will concentrate on the imports from the North East, though Levantine painted ware and dipper juglets will be excluded since this material is covered by others. Numerically the greatest number of such imports consist of amphorae, whilst fine wares, though present are rare.
