The Colonization/Urbanization of the Tell Area A II at Tell el-Daba and its chronological implications

The area A/II of Tell el-Daba, ancient Avaris, is well known for the the sacred precinct with its temples of Egyptian and Near Eastern types and its cemeteries. However, this paper will concentrate on an earlier period- stratum H (late MBIIA) when the site was used as a settlement area. The architecture and material culture, will be presented, a special focus will be on the pottery.
