Cuneiform texts and the dating of MB II Hazor

Malamat 1992 has used evidence for diplomatic contact between the rulers of Hazor and Mari as an argument for synchronizing the MB II period in the Levant with Mesopotamian chronology. This proposal will be reviewed in consideration of the current debate about the absolute dating of Mesopotamian chronology in the second millennium B.C. and in the light of recently published textual data about contact between Mesopotamian and Levantine policies.
