An assessment of the continuity and change in the LBI pottery at Tell cArqa.
Hanan Charaf

Tell cArqa, one of the major sites in Lebanon, has yielded well-preserved levels dated to the Bronze Age. The Level 12 pottery assemblage showed unprecedented features attributed to the commonly-known ceramics of Late Bronze Age I: On the one hand, there is a typological and a technological continuity with the local corpus of Middle Bronze Age II; on the other, new shapes, clay and manufacturing techniques appear, which are generally considered to be typical of LBI. The aim of this paper is to propose a regional assessment of the LBI pottery from the Northern Levant.
