The earliest groups of locally produced scarabs from Palestine
Baruch Brandl

During the last years several new scarabs that bear the names of the first three kings of the 20th Egyptian Dynasty were found in the archaeological excavations held in the territory of the land of Canaan.

To these, we can add few more scarabs - published already - that were overlooked, or identified erroneously.

We will discuss again Chr. Uehlinger's suggestion (ZDPV 104, 1988, 6-25 = OBO 100, 1990, 5-26) to relate some scarabs of Ramesses III to the Temple of Amon in Gaza.

Likewise, we will reconsider R. Krauss' identification (MDOG 126, 1994, 123-130) of a scarab from Lachish as related to Ramesses IV.

At last we will look over on the nature of the archaeological contexts of these finds.
